Word Up
No, this page is not a shout out to Cameo. It’s about my work. You know…what I do to make some cash every once in a while in between changing diapers and wiping drool.
Copyediting experience:
I am the copyeditor for Ethnic Online, an online magazine launched in 2009. I’ve also copyedited two novel manuscripts (one self-published and one print-on-demand), websites, brochures, and press releases. In addition, I consult on a variety of personal documents, including academic essays, college and graduate school application essays, resumes, and cover letters.
My writing:
Once upon a time, I used to write poetry and fill journals with my navel-gazing. As a senior in college, I actually won first place in my college’s poetry contest and later earned third place in a local poetry contest. Check it out. A project I especially enjoyed was for an educational publisher; as part of a team, I created PowerPoint presentations as an ancillary product to a high school literature textbook. Turns out that grad school degree and teaching experience paid off. Currently, I’m a contributing writer to Ethnic Online and ghostwrite occasional blog posts for a local interior decorating firm.

Wow it is great to meet another creative person. I used to write all the time, stories, poetry, etc. I miss it. Like you said once you have a kid (or two) you barely have time to take a shower or eat lunch, nevermind find some quiet time to think and write.
